Brother Tim Coldwell in his first year as head coach at St. Paul's led the team to its second title in a row. For the
second straight year, they beat Baton Rouge 2-0 at Lee High. St. Paul's would go on to two straight Final appearances,
but unlike their first two, they would lose.
Baton Rouge lost its third straight Final game. They have not appeared in a Final since.
Once again, St. Thomas More made it to the Semifinal, but could not advance. It was STM's third straight trip to the
Semifinals. Parkway made it to its first Semifinal game.
Hammond upset heavily favored and #1 ranked Vandebilt in the opening round. This was Vandebilt's first year since 1989
to not make it to at least the Quarterfinals.
